Pakistan comes first!
I wanted to share this excellent article that i came across on the Pak tea house. It goes to the root of the problem that we are facing today. Let's face it. We Pakistanis are insecure when it comes to the knowledge about our religion. We are not like Iranians who have for better or for worse a much better understanding of their religion. This is one reason where gangsters parading themselves as religious zealots, read Taliban and their ilk seem to get away with anything just because they use the name of religion. At the end of the day, we desperately need to find our nationalism and define it not by using the cloak of religion but by being confident about our nationality and what it means to be a Pakistani.

no i disagree. we are Muslims first and Pakistani's later. I am not willing to scarafice my religion for a county.. hell, i am not willing sacrafice religion over anything. How can they even ask me to do that?
we need to have them go hand in hand. Our problem is that we are not open minded enough and educated enough to interpret our religion properly and that is where all the problems arise.
:-)
@Raaji - Your are missing the point here. The article is about the identity. No body is asking you to put ur religion the back burner, but you have to reassert the Pakistani nationality. This is the only way we can fight the monster of religious fascism.
Hey Pakistan is Islam and Islama is Pakistan, to me these are both the 2 sides of the same coin, dont try to separate Islam and Pakistan. we may be bad muslims and we must try to improve but to surrender to FANATIC TALBAN ASSHOLES is not an option here
Kahan ho?
This blog is getting stagnated, you need to give time to your baby.
Raaji: This is a silly comparison, that is, Muslim first or Pakistani first. You can be both at the same time. People have multiple identities, and one does not have to take precedence over the other.
I tend to agree with The Luscious One on this.
Is it the end of this blog??
I appreciate your sentiments.. may there be more Pakistanis like you..
